Welcome to Tari

Tari is a small town situated in Southern Highland Province of Papua New Guinea, and is the home of the famous and wonderful Huli Wigmen.

Geography & Climate

The Tari basin lies amidst some of the most spectacular mountain highlands in PNG. The landscape is stunningly beautiful while the cool & pleasant climate year round makes for a very welcome break from the heat of the lowlands. The region receives much rain and this is reflected in the lush green scenery and the amazing diversity of flora and fauna.

The two major airline companies in PNG [ Air Niugini & Mission Aviation ] operate flights into and out of Tari several days per week. There are no banks in Tari, so you're advised to obtain Kina in Port Moresby before coming to Tari. The town has a basic hospital, a post office and a basic petrol station.
